How many guests fit at a round table?

The most common wedding and banquet question: how many people fit at a round table? Here are the standard numbers.

Standard round-table seating

• 5-foot (60") round: 8 guests comfortably, 10 if it’s tight.
• 6-foot (72") round: 10 guests comfortably, 12 at a squeeze.
• 4-foot (48") round: 6 guests.

Comfort vs. capacity

Squeezing in the extra seats saves on table rentals but tightens elbow room and makes it harder for staff to serve. For a plated dinner, favor the comfortable number; for a cocktail-style reception, the higher count is fine.

Plan it with the real numbers

In the planner, set each table’s seat count to match your actual rentals so the chart mirrors the room. Then it’s obvious when a table is full and who still needs a seat.
