Round vs. long tables: which is right for your wedding?
4 min read
Round or long tables shape how your reception feels. Here’s how they compare.
Round tables
The classic choice. Everyone can see and talk across the table, they fit well in square or round rooms, and rentals are widely available. Downside: they take more floor space per guest.
Long (banquet) tables
A modern, communal look that fits more people into a narrow room and makes striking photos. Downside: guests mostly talk to their immediate neighbors, and long floral runners cost more.
Mixing both
Many couples use a long head table with round guest tables, or a few long "feature" tables among rounds. In the planner you can add both shapes and arrange them to match your venue before you commit.
